Abstract

We summarize partial results of a worldwide campaign in 1991 with nearly continuous optical and ultraviolet coverage during several days of the 07.5III(n)((f)) star ξ Per. We present strong evidence that stellar-wind variability, as observed in the variable discrete absorption components in UV resonance lines, originates in the same region where Hα is formed, which is presumably close to the star.KeywordsEquivalent WidthStellar WindWind VariabilityRadial OutflowObservatory StaffThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
