Abstract
This paper proposes a method for simultaneous fault diagnosis of multiple cable based on Sequence Time Domain Reflectometry (STDR) using Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) codes. Due to the ideal autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties of ZCZ codes inside their zero-zone, faults in multiple cables can be successfully located simultaneously. Analytical and simulation results are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed technique. The proposed system has the potential of having a reduced weight, volume and computing time compared to using multiple single-cable detection devices.
