Abstract

Guillain-Barre´syndrome is a neurologic disorder resulting primarily in muscle paralysis with possible mortality. Although several etiologic factors have been implicated, the cause of the disease remains unknown. This article reviews a case in which a patient was referred with symptoms of myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome with development of Guillain-Barre´syndrome manifesting in the head and neck region. Diagnostic techniques and management are also discussed.
