Abstract

Traumatic hamate-metacrapal fracture dislocation is uncommon. Most of the cases are resulted from blunt trauma or crushing injury of rolling press machines. The first case of hamate fracture was reported by Buchanan in 1882. By the year of 2000, there were only thirteen cases reported. We reported a 29-year-old male, who sustained a crush injury of right forearm and hand by rolling press machine. Our experience from this case, open reduction and internal fixation for fracture-dislocation of hamate, metacarpus and trapezoid, and reposition of entrapped flexor tendons could get the best result and prognosis.
