Abstract

A simple and rapid method to determine acesulfame-K and aspartame simultaneously in power sweeteners, without pretreatment was proposed. This method employs linear sweep voltammetry assisted with multivariate calibration tools, in order to resolve the overlapping signals of both analytes. Multivariate calibration models were made using a Partial Last Square (PLS) algorithm. In order to increase sensitivity a rotating disk electrode (RDE) at 8000rpm was used. The sample throughput was 90samplesh−1. The obtained results are in good agreement with that obtained with HPLC method. This paper proposed an alternative methodology for improving the quality control of power sweeteners.
