Abstract

Objectives: Our preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) laboratory has previously demonstrated the ability to diagnose a deletion of the dystrophin gene in preimplantation embryos. However, knowing the sex of those embryos would greatly enhance our capability of transferring embryos in the event that the dystrophin gene analysis was determined inconclusive (i.e., sibling blastomeres don’t concur, contamination, etc). Therefore the objective of this study was to simultaneously determine the status of the dystrophin gene and gender in embryos from a couple undergoing a cycle of PGD.
