Abstract
Abstract The Liu-Harvey-Prausnitz model (1989a) for electrolyte solutions with ion-specific parameters is extended to simultaneously correlate the activity coefficient, relative partial molal enthalpy and heat capacity of six aqueous electrolytes (HBr, HCl, KBr, KCl, LiBr and LiCl) over the temperature range 0–110°C and the concentration range up to 21.55 m. An improved expression is proposed for the dielectric constant of aqueous electrolyte solutions over wide ranges of temperature and concentration. For comparison, a similar model (Liu et al., 1989b) is also applied to the simultaneous correlation. For both models, the calculated values agree well with experimental data.
