Abstract

Herein, LaCoO3 catalyst was synthesized by co-precipitation method and tested for CO, diesel soot, and simultaneous soot-CO oxidation in air. The soot conversion over LaCoO3 in the presence of CO gets enhanced in both loose and tight catalyst-soot contact mode, whereas CO conversion gets delayed. The positive influence of CO on soot oxidation is more pronounced in loose soot-catalyst contact mode that in tight mode. Also, the less delay in CO oxidation initiation is observed in loose contact. The positive influences of CO presence on soot oxidation, especially in simulated real filter contact (loose contact mode), will pave the development of system concerning simultaneous oxidation of CO and soot.
