Abstract

The article is aimed at applicability investigation and usage efficiency comparison of the routing protocols that are applied in flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) with a view to construct a network based on a set of multirotor mini-UAVs. The performance of AODV and OLSR routing protocols is evaluated as well. The Gauss-Markov (GM) mobility model describing the movements of UAVs in search and rescue (SAR) operations and a monitoring scenario is considered. The basic tool underlying the research is NS-2 simulator.
