Abstract

Probe-type electrostatic sensors provide a novel and promising way to realize nondestructive and on-line condition monitoring of heat engines. However, further researches are still needed in analyzing the sensors' sensing capability. In this paper, the concept of special dynamic sensitivity is proposed, which provides a more reasonable and practical description of the sensors' sensitivity. Meanwhile, a simulative 3-D model with high fidelity was built to explain and achieve a detailed analysis of probe-type electrostatic sensors' spatial dynamic sensitivity.
