Abstract

In this paper, the wing on the Unmanned Aerial System UAS-S45 Bàalam from Hydra Technologies is modeled and studied so that its aerodynamics and baseline performance can be better understood. More specifically, the performance of the wing, with and without a detachable upswept blended winglet, is investigated. Using detailed CFD results, the impact of this winglet is demonstrated through its effect on the spanwise distributions of forces and moments along the wing.
