Abstract
This paper investigates the performance of packet reservation multiple access (PRMA) protocols with channel reservation for data traffic (DR) in a cellular environment with fixed channel assignment (FCA). Integrated packet voice and packet data traffic are considered in the time division multiple access (TDMA)-based system. Furthermore, three schemes are proposed for voice-data-integration and compared with the PRMA scheme. Through computer simulation, we show that the performance of PRMA system with DR is better than that without DR in a cellular environment using FCA, and our proposed schemes can further improve the performance
