Abstract

This paper presents a design of Monopole Plasma Antenna using fluorescent tube. The length and diameter of plasma column are adjusted to achieve 2.4 GHz frequency and effect on reflection coefficient, S11 which is must be below than −10 dB. The others factor such as thickness of glass, length and width of aluminum tape, position between coupling sleeve and monopole plasma, distance from SMA connector to coupling sleeve, no of turns in coupling sleeve and diameter copper coil also considered to review the performance of antenna. In this paper, 589.88 mm is use as a length and 28 mm as diameter of plasma antenna. The results based on simulation using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio Software. The 2.4 GHz frequency can apply in Wi-Fi application.
