Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of multiple access to the common wireless channel of Adhoc networks. Firstly the principal common types of multiple access schemes are analyzed and the choice of TDMA for multimedia communication is justified. Furthermore, the interference environment for each node of the network is characterized. Secondly the two approaches which may be taken to schedule the TDMA transmissions are considered: broadcast and link scheduling. By complementing these scheduling approaches with the description of interference, the broadcast and link scheduling problems are fully described. Lastly the advantages and disadvantages of two specific broadcast scheduling algorithms are discussed through simulation experiments.
