Abstract

Nowadays, rubber pad forming process is applied in forming of the channels on bipolar plate. With the development of the channels, some complex channels were proposed. However, the existing researches were almost all about the simple straight channel based on 2-D models. This paper was focused on rubber pad pressing of corner channels with 3-D model which was limitation of the existing researches. All the effects of geometrical parameters on the forming results were analyzed in FEM. The real pressing experiments were also conducted to further study this process. After the results were received from both FEM and real experiments, the conclusion that channels formed by convex moulds were better than these formed by concave ones were drawn in the last.
