Abstract

This paper introduces doubly stochastic L-systems, which are developed from stochastic L-systems, for simulating textures with nonsymmetrically distributed primitives. A doubly stochastic L-system is divided into two sub-systems: a higher-ranked stochastic L-system and a basic stochastic L-system. The higher-ranked stochastic L-system controls and modifies probability densities of productions in the basic stochastic L-system and governs the distribution area of primitives. The proposed method is illustrated using several models, and their experimental results are also presented.
