Abstract
Within the framework of rigorous electrodynamic theory, we study waves in a system of two coupled cylindrical strip lines (CSTL) with circular cross section. The phenomenon of spectrum splitting is studied for symmetrically located coupled cylindrical strip lines, and an approximate dispersion equation for fundamental waves is obtained in addition to the rigorous analysis. Along with the coupled CSTLs, which have one and two symmetry planes, we consider the structure consisting of a cylindrical slot line (CSLL) and a CSTL. We have analyzed the dispersion properties and the structure of an electromagnetic field of natural waves and found a new law of manifestation of the mutual transformation of wave types.
