Abstract
As a result of the computer simulation of the torsion-compression of an elongated billet with annular grooves, conducted using the software package DEFORM 3D, the specific features of changes in the stress state of the billet have been determined and the initial shaped form of the billet, which provides an acceptable longitudinal nonuniformity of deformation, has been found.
