Abstract

Spatial filtering, using adaptive or smart antennas, has emerged as a promising technique for improvement of spectral efficiency of future wireless communications systems, especially with regard to the reverse data transmission link. In this paper we present simulation results obtained for the reverse link of CDMA system with smart antenna technologies assuming perfect adaptation. Comparisons, in terms of BER performance, for different numbers of active users and a varying number of elements in an adaptive linear array are presented. The impact of different channel profiles on mean BER is also assessed.
