Abstract

The cyclic, transient heat transfer within an injection mold is analyzed using iterative DRBEM/FDM based on transient heat conduction model in a decoupled sequence. It is found that the transient temperature fluctuation at mold cavity surface is much larger than that away from it. Simulated results from the present method are also compared with those calculated by a modified boundary element method based on a cycle-averaged approach and combined with a one-dimensional transient analysis
