Abstract

AbstractIn this research, charge transport characteristics in a double‐stranded DNA are discussed. Based on the polaron drift model, DNA was characterized by a 1D quantum wire model and the phonon scattering rates were calculated by deformation potential theory. Furthermore, using the calculated pho‐ non scattering rates, the carrier dynamics in DNA were characterized by the Monte Carlo simulation technique. The simulation result shows a rapid charge transport from the initial point. The validity of our modeling is also discussed. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
