Abstract

Compared with the conventional type of emergency power supply (EPS) using SPWM strategy, this EPS adopts SPWPM method bases on full-bridge full-wave mode inverter. Also a new driving pulse and its relevant control scheme of cycloconverter are proposed. As a result, the new EPS is of a compact, lightweight, low-acoustic noise, and high performance design, resulting in a reduced input harmonic current and also a reduced output voltage distortion under a linear load resistance. The high-frequency transformer transfers and boosts the voltage wave, which the high frequency inverter has exported. The operation principle of the proposed method is analyzed also verified by the results of SIMULINK software simulation and the results of 30 000 VA EPS prototype experiments. It is a powerful evidence for simplifying the control principle, decreasing the bulk and the weight of EPS.
