Abstract

The IEEE 802.1 Ethernet Audio and Video Bridge (AVB) is technology developed to transfer of multimedia data in order for high bandwidth like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and infotainment system in-vehicle. However, the Ethernet AVB cannot be allowed to satisfy requirement of critical control data (within 100us over 5hops) in-vehicle. Likewise, new standard is set on progress in the IEEE 802.1 Time-Sensitive Networking Task Group (TSN Task Group). The TSN standard is treated to add redundancy, Time Aware Shaper (TAS), preemption and etc. in the Ethernet AVB. The TSN standard can be led as follows: IEEE 802.1 ASbt, IEEE 802.1 Qca, IEEE 802.1 Qbv, IEEE 802.1 Qbu and etc. In this paper, we contribute to verify that the Scheduled Traffic (ST) with time-triggered method stated in the IEEE 802.1 Qbv standard can satisfy the requirement of critical control data.
