Abstract

The rain attenuation time series in Beijing and Hainan are synthesized by the means of E M-B model at microwave band and the fade duration is discussed. The number and probability of fade exceeding a given fade value are calculated based on 50 simulated rain attenuation time series, and compared with ITU-R predictive and measured values at 12.5GHz, in Hainan. The results indicate that the fade duration analysis by means of simulative rain attenuation time series is feasible. According to the rain attenuation time series simulated by E M-B, fade duration statistics are analysed at 20/30 GHz, in Beijing. The results show that in a given threshold value, the higher frequency is, the more numbers of fade are.
