Abstract

In order to determine the atmospheric optical turbulence and refractivity at a specific time and location of a recently conducted laser propagation field experiment, we used mesoscale modeling based on weather research forecasting (WRF) computations. The presented numerical simulations of laser beam propagation are compared with the experimental data and with the results obtained using conventional models for the refractive index structure parameter and refractivity.
