Abstract

AbstractDroplet spreading on solid surface is commonly seen in coating, 3D printing, inkjet printing, automobile surface spray decoration and pesticide spraying on crops, etc. In practical applications, droplet spreading, retraction, fragmentation and secondary spreading will occur after the droplet colliding with the solid surface, which are usually affected by the droplet viscosity, velocity, surface tension and other factors. Therefore, the quantitative study of droplet spreading process on the solid surface is of great significance to many industrial fields. Based on the new generation of CFD software XFlow, the mathematical model of ink droplet is established by taking the droplet spreading factor as the research target. Through simulation analysis of the droplet spreading process on solid surface and the flow field, the influence law of viscosity, velocity and surface tension on ink droplet spreading is given. Compared with droplet viscosity and surface tension, droplet impact velocity has greater influence on spreading factor.KeywordsInk dropletSpreading factorFlow field analysis
