Abstract

AbstractSmall burner rigs (SBRs) are designed to simulate hot corrosion conditions present in gas turbines (GTs) in tests at 1 atm. The important factors influencing hot corrosion are: gas composition, salt composition, amount of salt and temperature:SBR tests should be run to simulate these variables as closely as possible. This paper discusses how this can be accomplished for fuels containing sulphur with sodium or with sodium and vanadium impurities.
