Abstract
nowadays utilization of SF6 in gaseous circuit breakers (GCB) is suppressed due to global warming. Among these, combined gaseous dielectric such as SF6/N2, N2/CO2, and CO2 have proven their suitability as a substitute for pure SF6. The once estimation of electric arc profile in circuit breaker with different gaseous medium is substantial for designing and performance of them, during past decades many research is performed, which some of them lead to the black box models. Legros-Genon is the only one of black box models which is able to consider stochastic behaviour of electrical arc construction process. On the one hand, as parameters estimation methods for black box models are mathematical, which obtained from one or several limited test shot, stochastic process of electrical arc construction can't be considered. On the other hand conventional black box models haven't enough flexibility to modify themselves with operational conditions. In this paper alongside comprehensive review and simulation of black box models in a typical CO 2 circuit breaker, the advantages of Legros-Genon model, which described by means of Weibull distribution function, versus conventional models is investigated.
