Abstract
Pulsed eddy current (PEC) detection technology has gained attention in the research and development of the non-destructive testing (NDT). In contrast to the conventional eddy current testing method, the PEC detection technology uses pulsed excitation that is characterized by the richness of frequency. So when the inner corrosion of the low-carbon steel pipeline is detected by the PEC technology, the insulation and protective layers outside the pipeline needn't be dismantled. In this paper, the relationship between corrosion size and the signal of PEC is simulated. The simulation results will provide reference for the quantitative detection of the corrosion.
