Abstract

An autonomous cw chemical HF—HBr laser emitting simultaneously at ≈2.7 μm (HF molecules) and ≈4.2 μm (HBr molecules) is studied numerically by using complete Navier—Stokes equations. It is shown that the output power of the HBr laser per unit area of the nozzle array can achieve ≈20 W cm-2 for the laser region length ≈20 cm. The relation between the radiation intensities emitted by HF and HBr molecules is controlled by diluting the secondary fuel by bromine.
