Abstract

Simulators for training nuclear power-plant operators contain a duplicate of the actual plant-control-room instrumentation, which provides proper indications in response to operator control actions. In addition to the control-room instrumentation, the simulator includes an instructor's console, a computer complex, input/output interface equipment, and the attendant computer programs. Over the years simulators have grown in scope of plant system coverage and in complexity of the simulation techniques required. The sophistication of simulator implementation is still rapidly evolving in the areas of both simulation models and instrumentation. 9 references, 1 figure, 1 table.
