Abstract
The energy distribution of γ-rays incoherently scattered by the electrons of aluminium, tin, tungsten and lead is simulated by the Monte Carlo method. These electrons are regarded as free and in motion. The results are in good agreement with experimental distributions observed with a lithium-drifted germanium detector.
