Abstract

The support columns of cranes can undergo minor deformations under heavy pressure, which poses a challenge to lifting sophisticated equipment, such as satellites. To improve the stability and accuracy of the crane, the small deformation of the support column was studied. Two methods, numerical simulation and calculus derivation, were adopted by the research team. The results show that the numerical value calculated by the finite element method is 12.43 μm, while the numerical value derived by integration is 12.50 μm. The relative error is within the acceptable range, which verifies the accuracy of the model. The finite element method can calculate the deformation of precision crane column to improve its accuracy and safety, and provide data support for the design and optimization of precision crane.
