Abstract

In order to more accurately simulate the descaling process, a three-dimensional finite element model is established by ABAQUS based on the birth-death element method (BDEM). The model simulation results show that with the help of BDEM decision rules, the scale layer elements are continually deleted after reaching the failure threshold, and descaling process is accurately simulated. The maximum Mises stress at different times shows the law of random fluctuation, which is consistent with the working principle of BDEM. Increasing the number of iterations of the model and refining the local mesh can improve simulation effect of the model, but it will also increase the total amount of operation and total operation time.
