Abstract

Brachytherapy is a critical and irreplaceable component of treatment for gynecologic malignancies, but its curricula in residency is highly variable, particularly procedural experience. In surgical fields, simulation-based learning has been shown to improve learner's clinical and procedural competence. Thus, we performed, for the first time, a hands-on simulation-based gynecologic brachytherapy education intervention using a custom 3D pelvic phantom to evaluate the benefit of simulation-based learning on resident brachytherapy education.
