Abstract

SOFC Power Generation systems are getting more and more popular in the stationary and marine sector, to move away from traditional internal combustion engines, not only to reduce emissions, but also for higher system efficiency. In this presentation AVL shows how system simulation was initially used for definition of appropriate system architecture, following by correct component selection to fulfill contract efficiency and performance targets. To get the most reliable results at any point of V process development, simulation tool has to be predictive enough in concept phase and it should also offer simple parameterization of components where more data is available, either from component supplier or actual measurements. The complete workflow will be shown to have an idea how AVL is utilizing the software at any point of the V process for SOFC system development.
