Abstract

This study addresses the hybrid formulation of heuristics algorithm by the application of fitness modules. The scope of this paper to optimize the flow shop scheduling time estimates such as makespan and completion time. The variables identified for time estimates are release date; delay time, several machines, and transportation time. As a result, the obtained analytical data is 90 min for product 1 and 96 min for product 2 by application of the actual data into the model, as the completion time of proposed model is decreased to 2.5 times (i.e., the completion time from scientific data is minimum than the actual data). As a result, the completion time for jobs of product 1 and product 2 is decreased to 2.2 times with 61 iterations. The resulted reduction in completion time is due to the accuracy of fitness function as 0.0035. Therefore, it proves that the correlation of genetic optimization tool in MATLAB version 9.1 R2016b results more accurate by the optimized error of 0.4 than the analytical data, and hence, this model is validated and authenticated.
