Abstract

This paper introduces a design for a DC/DC converter which can be utilized in standalone PV systems. The converter will be operated as a charge controller while abiding by a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) constraint. The charge controller utilizes a full bridge isolated converter which allows it to control the output current of the PV system. The circuit is controlled by a hysteresis controller which maintains the output current within a certain predetermined ripples band. In addition to the design, this paper will also include a simulation as well as a practical implementation of the designed MPPT charge controller.
