Abstract

There is no enough attention about fittings power loss in high voltage transmission line. The traditional method to evaluate the power loss is analytic formula. Because of the irregular construction, the calculation result is not satisfactory. As the AC voltage class rising, the fittings power loss in transmission line is considerable for different fittings materials. To quantitatively analyze the power loss of fittings, simulation and experiment for the two types of fittings, cast iron suspension clamp and pre-twisted aluminium alloy suspension are carried out in this paper. The finite element method is applied to analyze the three dimensional eddy-current loss and verified by test. The calculation results show that the eddy-current loss in pre-twisted aluminium alloy suspension clamp is much lower than that in cast iron suspension clamp and the the period for investment payback is shorter. Through the electromagnetic filed simulation computation for the fittings, providing the basis for evaluating the high voltage transmission line power loss and proposing the scheme for fittings optimization design.
