Abstract

Front suspension system's dynamics behaviors simulation model for a forest fire patrolling vehicle was built by using ADAMS/Car in order to evaluate handling stability of the vehicle. The wheel parameters of the vehicle which affect vehicle's handling performances were simulated and analyzed. The relationship between the wheel parameters, such as the camber angle, toe-in angle, kingpin inclination angle as well as caster angle, and the wheel travel distance in vertical direction has been investigated. The front suspension location parameters are able to guarantee that the vehicle has under-steering characteristic and aligning performance.
