Abstract

This paper presents a study carried out with the simulation plataform RSCAD software and the Real Time Digital Power System Simulator (RTDS) for the IEEE-13 bus power system. The objective is to evaluate the impacts of distributed generation (DG) penetration based on photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy. More specifically, the simulations aim at analysing the voltage variations at the system buses due to the DG penetration in real time, with and without voltage regulator at the substation by its tap control, in a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) based study.
