Abstract

The possibility of simultaneous reconstruction of different shallow water parameters by the mode tomography methods is considered. The initial data for the reconstruction are the propagation times of individual modes in the different frequency bands. The reconstruction results can be both the water layer parameters (such as sound speed profile, eddies) and the bottom characteristics (such as relief and sound speed in the bottom). The approach is based on idea that the different shallow water parameters affect the propagation times of different modes on the different frequencies in the different manner. As a result, if it is possible to separate from the received total field enough information about the propagation times of the mode signals, then it becomes possible to implement the joint reconstruction of the considered shallow water features. Another peculiarity of the regarded approach that all the considered shallow water features are described using the single basis. As a result, the single perturbation matrix is used for the joint reconstruction. The numerically simulated results obtained by the regarded approach are presented.
