Abstract

A retrospective description of the, fifth International Symposios on Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics was done. The number of participants were similar in the last three symposios and the number of research and authors have increased. The continents with less number of participants were Asia (13%), Africa (5.4%) and South and Central America (2%). Participants from the universities were 31% and from the ministries of agriculture 26%. The topics with more interest were Animal Health (50%) and the less interest were topics related Veterinary Public Health (3%). There was an increasing number- of research on softwares related herd monitoring, surveillance, analytical methods and models.
