Abstract

A simple tunable fiber comb filter composed of two quarter-wave plates and a section of polarization-maintaining fiber is proposed. The states of polarization are investigated through theoretical analysis, and we present the means for continuous wavelength tunability using analytic expression. The optimal angle combination of each birefringent device could be deduced so that an arbitrary wavelength could be a channel center of the comb filter without transmission loss, which is verified experimentally.
