Abstract

We propose approximation expressions consisting of a combination of standard dynamic sections to replace the transcendent component appearing in the transfer functions of tubular heat exchangers, the input quantities of which are changes in the temperature of the working medium upstream of the heat exchanger and the temperature of heating gases or in the flowrate of working medium and the output quantity of which is the change in the temperature of working medium downstream of the heat exchanger. The accuracy of the approximation is estimated by comparing the initial and approximated frequency responses.
