Abstract

A simplified method of evaluating the performance dual carrier modulation (DCM) over Nakagami-m fading channel is presented in this paper. The DCM is constructed by forming a pair of QPSK symbols pre-coded with DCM transform matrix intended to be transmitted over two independent sub-channels. The pre-coding and modulation technique by DCM results frequency diversity and coding gain in ultra-wideband system that can be employed in millimeter wave or THz radio transmission system. By utilizing the generic formula in [4], we derive a much more tractable symbol error rate (SER) than previous methods [3], and, in addition, an asymptotic form of SER is derived as well.
