Abstract

A simplified model is proposed dealing with a heat transfer crisis during forced flow of water in tubes. The formula for the critical heat flow is obtained. The verification showed that this formula with a single empirical coefficient embraces 4745 experimental values of critical heat flows at a mean square error of 0.0691 in a wide range of parametric variations.
