Abstract

Abstract The condensation of glucose with 2-aminobiphenyl resulting in the formation of a characteristic color, the intensity of which is directly proportional to the quantity of glucose, has been adapted to a simple technical procedure using a single stable reagent. Values obtained by this procedure which may be used with either Folin-Wu or Somogyi-Nelson deproteinized filtrates reflect true blood glucose.
