Abstract

A commonly used fixed prosthodontic impression device is a plastic syringe that places impression material into cavity preparations. A small bottle brush is supplied for cleaning the barrel of the syringe between impressions (Fig. 1). This brush may be misplaced and not readily available for use. A simpler and readily available method to clean and dry the inside of the syringe involves the use of a cotton roll. The cotton roll cleaning method is a practical and efficient alternative to the bottle brush.
