Abstract

The space of simple reflection was first introduced in connection with the search for supersonic surface waves. The space of simple reflection exhibits various features in anisotropic media and there are two types of space of simple reflection. This paper presents the general characteristics of the two types of simple reflection. In order to establish a general approach to finding supersonic surface waves in anisotropic materials, some principles concerning the behavior of the eigenvalues of a certain crucial B r matrix are presented.
